Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford is an American actor, singer, and dancer. Her initial roles on Broadway included in musicals Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The actress was awarded an award from the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for playing Essie Carmichael in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed actors and directors for stage productions and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford's next project will be a limited-edition Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford stars opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current project will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust and he will be starring with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is scheduled to stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will be returning in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The group behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the leading the production. Ashford portrayed Paula Jones, the main role in Ryan Murphy's latest FX program American Crime Story Impeachment. The series is based on the crisis which swept Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp and other principal characters in the first impeachment proceeding in America in more than a century. She was also the lead in two seasons on CBS Comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette and Chuck Lorre the series also starred legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo and Ben Vereen.No stranger to Broadway Ashford was awarded the Tony Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her role as Essie in You Can't Take It with You. Sunday in the Park starring George Wicked and Legally Blonde are just a few of her Broadway credits. Ashford is a Denver resident who splits his time between Los Angeles.
