Zoe-perry
Perry is the daughter and the son of Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry, a director. Her first appearances were on television as Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC show Roseanne. Her parents did not allow her to act in front of her family until adulthood, as they feared the strain it might cause. Perry was shy in high-school and wasn't a good actor. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends as she transferred from Boston University. After graduation Perry moved to New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent but homesickness brought her back to California in search of acting work. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway as a couple for the play The Other Place, in 2013. Her father was also in the production. Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 with the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC film The Family in 2016. She was also a regular actor in the ABC political drama Scandal that starred her dad. Also in 2017, she portrayed a child character based on Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) as her mother as a young version. The role was given an audition to the actress, even though she has a family tie with the role.
